Harbour Town Biggera Waters Gold Coast Queensland
Well you cannot go to Queensland without looking for a bargain, and you will npot do better than Harbour Town in Biggera. This place is wholesale and clearance specials galore.
Harbour Town will require at least 8 hours to get through, we spent the best part of that there and still did not get to all the shops, and what better way to get a days shopping done than the chance to sample many types of food as well as have a great value lunch there. From starting with Amorni clearance outlet (bags and accessories for the girls) to Calvin Klein for the gents there are many shops for all in between. We (my wife and I) took 3 teenagers with us, and they had a great time the 2 girls took of early only to return each 30 minutes or so to show their bargains, as for us we found a great selection of boys gear and my wife well lets just say my credit card is nearly melted and the bank will be happy this month.
Lunch:
We decided upon the Star Coffee Co located in the central food area, this place has a great atmosphere and prices are good. There is a great variety of food there was not a particular style that was prevalent but I would say they had good Australian cuisine.
They did a great tea/coffee and homemade scones (with jam and cream) for $5.00 great morning tea or lite snack (this was all sold out by about 3.00 PM so if you like homemade scones as I do get in early.
Next we sampled the boys favourite, a bowl of chips they appeared to not be from frozen and where hot and crispy. The accompanying coffees where fresh hot and just a good strength.
As I we got ready to move on for the next round we noticed they had a great selection of cakes and muffins all made on the premises, I really liked (and had to sample) the individual lemon merengue pies (drool yum yum).
We also gave the Nandos group a try and I’m afraid they lost points for not getting the girls order correct and the wait was more than 15 minutes, but I suppose we get that when the staff have no excitement in their role.
We meandered around for several more hours before my hunger again grew to the point I needed to look for another place, and I happened upon The Coffee Club and boy did they live up to their name the coffee was great and the snacks irresistible.
The girls assured me that having a Boost fruit drink would revitalise me and it sure did, not sure how healthy it is being that they put 1 giant scoop or so of ice-cream into it. But it was very refreshing and tasted great and a bargain at $5.90.
All in all we had a great time and intend to go back next week, there was a great selection of eateries , cafes and even restaurants to choose from. There are of course the usual lazy selections golden arches and their like but a great selection of fresh food made locally from great quality produce at similar pricing to the aforementioned fast food giants.
