The Boyz for Breakie – Mornington Victoria Australia
The Boyz for Breakie 1a Main Street Mornington Victoria Australia – Licenced restaurant (12/07/2008)
So you head down to the Mornington Peninsula for a day or a weekend and are looking for a good value and great quality place to eat, breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee and a snack. You wont go too far wrong with the Boyz which is located at the bay end of the main Street of Morningtons shopping strip.
The Boyz have been a part of the food scene in Mornington for many years now and have amassed a strong reputation for quality and service, on this occassion we ordered from the breakfast menu 1 eggs florentine ($14.00) and 1 The boyz breakie ($17.50) this was accompanied with a couple of lattes ($3.30 each).
1. The meal:
Today we tried the Pea and ham soup with freshly cooked Cabata bread ($10.00), the Beef stew with dumplings and vegetables ($15.00) and the Mushroom risotto with pecirino cheese. We chose to accompany our meal with the organic cola and creaming soda from NZ.
The decor of the restaurant is very modern and relaxing. We sat at a table for 2 near the front under the heaters (which in winter is fantastic) the restaurant is an open plan with a mezanine for up to 100 people. It is interesting that they have a shop as well which sell culnary equipment, of which I controlled myself on this visit.
Rating: 7/10
2. Service Speed:
Service was both friendly and speedy. The entire meal process took a little over 30 minutes for breakfast (although we did hang a little longer to saok up the heat before embracing the wintery sea breeze).
Rating: 7/10
3. Food Quality:
The food was of fantastic standard and the quality appeared to be maintained with ease, the meals are a good serving for either the picky eater or those who like myself required a little more substantial meal which I add left us satisfied.
Rating: 9/10
4. Ambience:
A very modern and very friendly eating area, very clean and welcoming, it feels comfortable and not snobby as many of the eateries on the peninsula tend to do.
Rating: 7.5/10
5. Value for Money:
This is for those seeking both good quality meal and great service this has a well priced menu to suit your needs, I would say that for the price we had a meal that would be better standard than some we have seen in the city (Melbourne). Overall we thought it was good value for money.
