I need a new coffee maker, there are tons out there. which is best?

Published by at 7:24 pm under Coffee

I am looking for a quality drip coffee maker. I got a free one from gevalia, it only lasted 3 months. I did everything the directions said to do. I am not sure what went wrong. I need a new one and I want a quality one. I have looked at Macys, target, dillards, bed bath and beyond. I have read reviews, some just seem like people got a lemon or really couldn't state an actual problem. I am willing to spend 100.00 if its good quality. Please any opinion or review of current coffee maker would help.

Hands down, a Keurig (we have the B60)

It’s not cheap and you have to order the K-cups. No more cleaning and no more wasting 8 cups in the morning during the week. Fill the side with distilled water, insert a K-cup ( wide variety to choose from), put cup under dispenser, select cup size you want (smaller is stronger), and press a button. 45 seconds later, you have a hot fresh cup of coffee. Clean up involves throwing the K-cup in the garbage and cleaning the drip tray once a week.

People shy away from them because of having to order coffee. Once you know what flavors you like, you can do all of the ordering from their web site. They will ship you what amount you want every month, unless you go to the site and change your order. We just have our credit card billed. They will ship you sample packs and send you even more if you recommend someone. In a pinch, you can also find the K-cups at target or other similar stores.

We went through 5 coffee makers before this one. I got tired of the cleaning and wasting coffee during the week. If you like a fresh cup every time and don’t mind the minimal effort to do the ordering, you can’t go wrong.

The one I have is by Proctor Silex… it's pretty good and has outlasted other coffeemakers that my husband and I bought to 'replace' it, even those kinds that have the dispensing option (DON'T get those–too high maintenance!) and higher end brands. Sometimes, the less expensive models make the best coffee because there's less to get in the way of the actual brew process.

I've had many Mr. Coffee makers and wasn't really impressed. The Krups models have worked out well for me.

River Espresso, search for them on yahoo. They sell the "la san marco" and others. We bought ours from the guy and he is very friendly about giving advice over the phone, etc. He also does service through the mail. We love our machine.

I highly recommend the Keurig coffee maker. It's available online at Green Mountain Coffee or at the Keurig website. Check out the demo on how it works. Never saw anything like this before. It's truly astonishing how GREAT the coffee is- fresh every cup and the variety of coffees available in the K-Cups make it even more fun. The last coffee maker we had was a Bunn, and it's now stored away. Hope this helps!

I love my HamiltonBeach brew station.
I've had it for 3 yrs. and use it 2-3 times a day.Keeps the coffee very hot.
You pour each cup by pressing your cup against a lever under the brewing pot.
