i get the mini/foil patty cake cases.

Just melt chocolate with a little(couple of spns)Then with pastry brush paint the inside of cases so their lined with choc,(make shell coating thickish)refrigerate till set.
Meanwhile make a peanut butter caramel type filling(peanut butter, little cream, little butter&caramels all melted in pan till smooth)Fill a tspns worth into each little cup&refrigerate to firm up)MEANWHILE,melt more choc.over a water bath till smooth, then put some on the cups to encase.Set in fridge/if you can stand to wait..HOME MADE PEANUT-BUTTER CUPS!!!!
There easy,no special ingredients, skills or equiptment needed.Hope you like them.

My husband and tons of our friends are overseas in Iraq and I’d like to send them some homemade cookies and treats. I need some “desert proof/safe” recipes. Please nothing that can melt or go bad easily like chocolate. Also, need to know how to pack them so they can arrive fresh! Thanks a million!

My son was overseas and I sent many different types of cookies. You just have to make sure they are not soft or crumbly cookies. I would send snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, sugar, chocolate filled snowballs…..etc. (You can get these recipes on line). For the most part, they arrived in okay condition. The chex mix idea is a great idea. I did not think of that and I am sure they would have loved that! As far as packing goes, I would just make sure everything was packed tight so things would not move around too much in the boxes. Another good idea is to make homemaid beef jerky. It is not hard make at all.

I was wondering if anyone has any good recipes for baked goodies that I can send to the Middle East? Recipes CANNOT have spices, pork or byproducts, molasses, brown sugar or butter in them. My 5 year old is doing a service project and we decided to send guys who are courageously serving our country overseas baked treats for CHristmas, but I am having a hard time coming up with any recipes that will be able to get through customs, not spoil and survive the desert heat. Any suggestions anyone? Have any recipes or even know where I could look to get some?

I send my friends who are over in the dessert rice crispy treats and chocolate chip cookies. We've never had an issue with the brown sugar/butter thing. Ive never even heard of that. But I wouldnt doubt it. I cut and individually plastic wrap the rice crispy treats so they stay softer longer and toss the cookies in a plastic baggie. I mail everything priority mail so it takes about 2-3 weeks to get there. According to my friends the goodies are still fresh and taste great!

I was wondering what the main essential shopping items are for a weeks amount of shopping. Cutting off the biscuits, chocoate, lollies, desert treats etc. Just the basic items, including tolietry and hygeine. This is for one person for one week.

Thanks.

If you stick to the essentials, you can make a multiplitude of recipies and dishes. However, depending on your budget, you may not need to shop every week, just might need to stock up on a few items. An example is if you buy rice, you should buy a bigger bag which would last a bit longer. Tomatoes or other perishables will most likely be every week.
My essentials are basically
bread, cereal, milk, sugar, flour, onions, tomatoes(canned & fresh), rice, butter, salt, pepper, lettuce, chicken, ham, mince, some spices, toilet paper, soap, and more.

It varies week to week, try out a shop or two and you will find out how much you use/need after a while.
Good luck.
